FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ALABAMA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
What is the AWSP?
In 2020, the state of Alabama was awarded nearly $18 million by the U.S. Department of Education Re-Imagine Workforce Program (RWP), provided through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
The AWSP is using the funds to create a 21st Century Alabama workforce that is proactive, responsive, and results-driven; supports the region’s diverse population and employers; and provides quality job opportunities in support of a vibrant regional economy.
