By now, you probably know that CAVU is a benefit corporation. Our mission is to help members of underserved communities gain access to professional development opportunities they might not have otherwise had. As you may have read a few weeks ago, Alabama Power Foundation made an investment in CAVU. This is very exciting for us and will greatly expand the reach of our scholarship program this year.
We’re happy to announce we are now accepting applications! We understand that talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not. The CAVU scholarship program is one way we are helping bring balance and diversity to the tech industry. Scholarships are open to anyone from the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, women, and people who need financial aid to take advantage of professional development opportunities.
Scholarship recipients will gain one year of full access to the CAVU platform. This includes all of our on-demand courses, coaching and community events, and the ability to take our Scrum Bootcamp course. How can that lead to new opportunity? Well, last year alone, there were over 65,000 job postings for Scrum Masters1 and currently over 19,000 job postings for Product Owners on Indeed today2. In addition, 70+%3 of companies practice Agile. Because students who complete the Scrum Bootcamp can earn both their Scrum Master and Product Owner credential, this will help those who already have some experience on the job set their sights on a new role and accelerate their career growth.
And as we continue to add more courses and content to our catalog, scholarship members will be able to continue growing their knowledge and skills in other relevant areas.
If you’re looking to take the next step in your career, we invite you to apply here today.
